Tabor Academy is a coeducational, college preparatory boarding and day school located on Sippican Harbor on the Southcoast of Massachusetts. Tabor enrolls students demonstrating academic ability, strong motivation, sound character, emotional stability, and a willingness to participate fully in the school community. Tabor is founded on the belief that a healthy school community finds common ground while embracing differences and, therefore, accepts a racially, ethnically, religiously, economically, and internationally diverse student body. Tabor students are expected to respect one another and to care for their school. Tabor's academic, artistic, athletic, and community programs provide distinctive opportunities for students to achieve genuine understanding, develop significant skills, and to identify and pursue personal goals. As the "school by the sea," Tabor sustains a unique maritime heritage that embodies, in all its programs, the qualities of a seafaring life: thoughtful preparation for and awareness of the wider world, perseverance, courage, good humor, a sense of direction, and humility. Tabor's faculty commit themselves to balancing high demands with genuine affection for their students and to fostering relationships founded in compassion, personal integrity, and trust that anchor Tabor's community.

Tabor’s squash tradition dates from 1963, when Stone Gymnasium was constructed with four North American squash courts. Since then Tabor has established a tradition of team success and friendly competition that today fills our five international squash courts with players who range from beginning to advanced. Tabor offers three levels of squash instruction as a winter sport. Boys varsity players compete in New England and National High School Tournaments. Junior varsity players train to master basic skills of the game, and play a full schedule of dual and tournament matches. Third team players learn squash fundamentals and form a ladder for interscholastic competition. Features of our program: Our boys program includes 57 players who will develop skill, sportsmanship, and spirit. This year’s varsity top eight players include six who have learned the game at Tabor. Our top player from last year won the New England individual championship, where he and his teammates finished 10th in New England’s “A” Division. Eight members of our varsity team traveled to Egypt over Thanksgiving vacation in 2019 for our third annual camp for squash training, sight-seeing, and team bonding. As an Independent School League (ISL) member, Tabor competes in the Jackson Tournament to plays a competitive schedule. “Seawolf Squash” is a captain-run club activity that this past fall attracted thirty boy and girl squash players for twice-a-week friendly competition and training.
